Rural Banker and Community Issues

When:

Tuesday, August 4, 2015 beginning at 9:00 a.m. CDT

Where:

Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City
1 Memorial Drive
Kansas City, Mo. 64198

The meeting will also be available via live Webcast (and recorded for later viewing). There is also a toll-free telephone line at (888) 431-3632 (access code 4418680#) where members of the public may listen to live audio from the meeting.

Meeting Format:

The outreach meeting will provide an opportunity for bankers, consumer and community groups, and other interested persons to present their views directly to senior management and staff of the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System, and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (the Agencies) on any of the Agencies’ regulations. As this outreach meeting will focus on the effects of banking regulations on rural banks and their communities, the Agencies have requested that panelists give attention to these issues.

The meeting will consist of panels by bankers and consumer and community groups to present particular issues. There will be limited time after each panel for comments from meeting attendees. In addition, there will be a session at the end of the meeting during which audience members may present views on any of the regulations under review. The Agencies reserve the right to limit the time of individual commenters, if needed, in order to accommodate the greatest number of persons desiring to speak.

The agenda for the meeting is available here.

Public Comments:

Written or oral comments made by audience members will be reflected in the public comment file. Audience members who do not wish to comment orally may submit written comments at the meeting. In addition, any interested individual may submit comments through the EGRPRA Website during open comment periods.

We request that comments relate to concerns with the regulations rather than with any particular insured depository institution.

Registration:

All individuals wishing to attend the outreach meeting in Kansas City should register. Because of space constraints, on-site attendance will be limited. The meeting will be video-recorded and publicly Webcast in order to increase education and outreach. By participating in person at the meeting, you consent to appearing in such recordings.

Online registrations will be accepted through July 28, 2015 or until all seats are filled, whichever is earlier. If seats are available, individuals may register in person at the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City on the day of the meeting.

Registration is not required to view the live Webcast.

Security:

On the day of the outreach meeting, all audience members must present a government issued form of identification and go through security screening procedures at the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City.

Parking Information: There is no on-site parking at the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City. However, a commercial off-site parking lot on Warwick Trafficway has been reserved for outreach participants. A Reserve Bank-owned shuttle will provide continuous shuttle transportation at the beginning and end of the event to transport attendees between the Reserve Bank and the parking lot, at no cost to participants.
